  • Every day 5,760 more children in the world become orphans.
  • By 2015 it is projected that there will be 400 million orphaned children worldwide.
  • Emptying an orphanage by adoption on a regular and repeated basis provides a never ending resource in which to house more homeless orphans who are currently living and dying on the streets.
  • Not all are called to adopt, but anyone can love and bless orphan children in a practical and meaningful way by helping other families adopt.
There are many families that have the calling to adopt, but cost is the number one reason that prevents them from following through. This i

Today is mothers day, and in todays world, a mother comes in so many different ways. There are those that are biological mothers, step mothers, and those that commit mothering acts daily. You see we women, are wired to be mothers, that is how our God created us. This does not mean that all of us have to be biological mothers to children. Whether we realize it or not, we mother numerous people in our lifetime. When we come along side someone, male or female, and nurture a need, we are mothering. It is really a beautiful thing. Some children although they live in a home where the "mother" is present, she is non existant, tuned out, etc. There are mothers that are overly motherly and then there are those mothers that abandon their children all together. A mother plays a instumental part in a childs development, and when she is missing, the puzzle is not complete. This is all to overwhelmingly true for the orphaned child. For they not only are void of a mother, but a father as well.
Orphan children want to know "If God loves ME" why am I an orphan?" "If you love me, why don't you adopt me?"  Most of them cannot comprehend God's love and the Gospel makes no sense to them - as long as they are orphans. One of the goals of Sweet Miracles is to aide in the adoption of the orphans. In the Philippines we can get 15 to 20 children adopted for the same cost as raising only one child in an orphanage, where they will stay for an average of 10 years or more.  The cost to sponsor an adoption in the Philippines is only 1,000 to 1,500.

OUR GOAL: For the year of 2011, Sweet Miracles would like to successfully raise enough funds to do the following:
        1. Short term mission trip to the Philippines in August
        2. Sponsor 3 adoptions

Emptying an orphanage by adoption on a regular and repeated basis provides a never ending resource in which to house more homeless orphans who are currently living and dying on the streets.
    God Bless

Wow! That is all I can say.....The response at First Friday was overwhelming. The product was loved and the people where great. We moved about 2/3 of the product that we brought down with us....What where the favorites, you might ask....Coffee Crunch and the Toffee Love! After tonights efforts, we have reached 25% of our FIRST goal. :) We will be at Calvary Chapel Grants Pass in a couple of weeks and we foresee that as being a very positive experience. Aside from the fundraising, sharing the vision that the Lord has for my life and the work that I will be doing was extremely rewarding and fun. Thank you all.

Often times when I here from the Lord and step out in faith, I have no idea where I am going or what is about to happen. This is exactly what I feel like now. Knowing that the Lord had a will for me to travel to orphanages, I had to find a way to make it happen. So I went to him for help. I prayed and asked for the financial provision for these travels. The only response I got was "Use your gifts and talents".  At first I thought...What talents?  Then It all became clear. Taking the vision and direction that the Lord so clearly laid out for me, I put up a facebook page and started making candy. This was just one week before Easter. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I did know that if the Lord's hand was in it, it would be blessed. Slowly doors started opening and orders started coming in. In the first 7 days Sweet Miracles raised 300.00.  A few days after that frenzie ended another door opened and created an opportunity for Sweet Miracles to be Down Town for First Friday. I have been busy all week in preperations for this event and I am very excited to see what is in store. This is our first major outing and I expect great things. I will be sure to let you know how it goes. God Bless
